My week in pictures...

On Saturday May 2nd, there was a Master's
Swim meet at HOPAC.  A few of our teachers swam in
it.  I went to cheer them on.  It was a fun morning.,
maybe next year I will participate.
Our pool is looking amazing right now.  I am very thankful
for Jowelle our swimming coordinator who has been
doing an excellent job keeping our pool in top shape.

This past week we had many power cuts.  It started on
Sunday with a 24 hour power outage, and continued
to be on and off throughout the week.  Although it can
be extremely frustrating, I was thankful that we had
cooler weather this week.  Also great to have
candles and some comforts of home!

My desk looked like this most of the week :)
I have been busy planning for the upcoming sports
days.  A few more things to put together this week
before sports days happen on May 20th and 21st.

This picture is taken from inside my office.
We had a ton of rain this week, which resulted in
some major flooding in some areas of Dar.
The rains can make traveling next to impossible,..
some of our students were on the bus for over
5 hours on Thursday traveling home from school.
Please pray for those who were impacted
by the flooding.

After days of rain we had a beautiful rainbow on Friday evening.

A panoramic showing the entire rainbow.

This is the lovely machine that I use to paint the
lines for the track on our field.  It has been difficult
with all the rain to keep the lines painted, but
on Saturday we had a nice day so I got to work.

Oh the joys of car ownership! I think this has been
a long time coming.  I noticed awhile ago that the
tail pipe had a bunch of holes in it because of rust.  Today
I think I scarped something parking at church and
now the entire exhaust pipe is hanging.  Time to get some
work done on the car this week that I have been avoiding
for quite awhile.  I still love my car and I am extremely
thankful for it.

MY WEEK IN PICTURES

It has been a really long time since I have blogged.  It isn't that I haven't thought about it.  I have sat down numerous Sunday afternoons to blog.  I would sit there and think.  At times I would even put words on the page, but I never posted them.  Just couldn't get the wording right or put the thoughts together.  This past week my dad suggested I just go small....post a picture...make it simple.  So that is where I will start.... Here are some pictures from my week!
The view from my bedroom that never gets old.
I really enjoy getting up and watching the sunrise.
Birthday decorations put up by my housemates...the picture frame
was a gift from a housemate!
Birthday dinner made by my housemates Laura
and Christine.
Gavin, Layla, and Sadie..my nieces and nephew in
Tanzania....came over on my birthday
with an amazing cake.

These are pictures of the track that Shaun Graham and I marked out a couple of  weeks ago.  I think we have finally figured out how do measure it out quickly and efficiently.  Now the trick is keeping the lines painted for the next several weeks until HOPAC sports days take place, rainy season can make that difficult at times. I have been spending many hours on this track with P.E. classes, timing them in qualifying races for sports day.  Also we started an after-school track team this term. We have six coaches and about 40 students involved. We are hoping to have a inter-school track meet on May 23rd.
